AtticFoil HDF Metalized Radiant Barrier Film Product Information
AtticFoil HDF meets the NEW ASTM E84-2009 using the E2599 mounting method. If you are doing new construction you may need this product to meet code requirements. It is very strong and durable and achieves a CLASS A/CLASS 1 FIRE RATING.
For existing homes and retrofit applications, you can use the original AtticFoil Aluminum Radiant Barrier Foil Insulation with pure aluminum on both sides. AtticFoil HDF is very similar to our original AtticFoil except the outer surfaces are a layer of metalized film which is basically a "Mylar" type product. The actual aluminum layer is about 1/200 the thickness of the pure aluminum product. Unlike the pure aluminum AtticFoil, the metalized film has a clear, non-conducting coating over the aluminum. This is requried to prevent oxidation on the film product.

- Metalized Radiant Barrier Film is approx 28 lbs per 1000 sq. ft. roll
- Class A / Class 1 Rated under ASTM 09 - ASTM E2599
- Roll Size 48" Wide.
- Double Sided PERFORATED Radiant Barrier Foil. Perforated (tiny holes) allow water vapor to pass through. This foil IS NOT rated as a VAPOR BARRIER. You Usually DO NOT want a vapor barrier in attic applications.
- Both Sides are the SAME. There is NO Top or Bottom.
- Metalized Radiant Barrier Film is currently NOT available for pick up. All orders are shipped.
